Booking Agencies
A booking agent will solicit and negotiate live engagements for a musician or music group. Booking agents should have good connections to music venues, promoters, and talent buyers. On average, a booking agency will take 10% of the profit made on a gig, but this rate will vary. If you are interested in doing more live music shows or have little experience with bookings, contacting a booking agency would be recommended. However, if you have the motivation and interest in learning this aspect of the music business, most performance contract agreements are simple enough to negotiate yourself.
